Maison Safqa, a Saudi startup has closed $620,000 funding in its pre-seed round. The round was led by 500 Global via its Sanabil MENA 500 Accelerator Fund and several angel investors from the region and beyond. Others backing the round include retail and tech experts, including the founder of Ventes Exclusives that later merged with Veepee.
Lea Mehaweg, Estelle Nasr and Georgia Mehaweg founded the company in 2024. It operates an online marketplace that enables premium and luxury brands to sell excess inventory without eroding the image of their brand or pricing.
Maison Safqa curates great deals on fashion, beauty and lifestyle products for selected shoppers. Brands choose whether they prefer to sell their products at a public flash sale or private, invite-only campaigns. It helps them maintain control over their image and customer reach.
Lea Mehaweg, who covers the Gulf region as co-head of Bain & Company’s Middle East division, said the luxury market in that area alone hit $12.8 billion in 2025, but many brands still find it hard to sell their unsold goods for fear of tarnishing their identity. The platform gives brands a means of selling such products to the right buyers in a controlled fashion, she added.
As the company manages the entire process from onboarding to delivery, brands can easily manage their excess stock. The platform, Estelle Nasr said, is centered around speed and ease of use as well as a seamless technology-led shopping experience.
Since launching in May 2025, more than 50 premium brands including Aigner, Lanvin, Liu Jo and Chantelle have joined Maison Safqa alongside Flabelus. Within one year, the company experiences a twentyfold increase in gross sales.
It has also signed partnerships with major Saudi groups such as Red Sea Global, Diriyah and Cenomi Real Estate, bridging retail with real estate and lifestyle categories.
The startup will achieve $2.5 million in total sales here within 18 months and its brand network will grow to over 100 partners. It is also set to introduce in-person flash-sale events in Riyadh and Jeddah. The company is also working on improved personalisation tools and faster onboarding to facilitate its growth.
Launched in November 2021, Maison Safqa is establishing its residence in the rapidly expanding luxury market throughout the Gulf region.
