Finland-based Skyfora has secured €6.5 million in fresh funding to expand its weather data network built on existing telecom infrastructure.

The investment round was led by Ugly Duckling Ventures and included participation from Eviny Ventures, LUMO Labs, the European Innovation Council (EIC) Fund, and non-dilutive funding from Business Finland.

Founded in 2019, Skyfora develops technology that transforms mobile network infrastructure into a large-scale atmospheric sensing network. The company collects weather-related data that can be used to improve forecasting systems and climate monitoring.

The new funding follows a €4 million round raised last year to support the wider deployment of Skyfora’s Telecom GNSS Meteorology technology.

The company plans to use the capital to accelerate the commercial rollout of its platform, expand data products, and strengthen partnerships with telecom operators and weather industry organizations across Europe, the United States, and the Middle East.

Skyfora is also preparing to launch its real-time weather data API and atmospheric intelligence dashboard in mid-2026.

Its data supports weather forecasting models, numerical weather prediction systems, and operational platforms used across sectors including energy, defence, logistics, civil protection, and critical infrastructure.

The funding comes as investment activity continues to grow across weather forecasting, climate analytics, satellite data, and Earth intelligence technologies. Companies in these sectors are attracting funding to develop tools that help organizations better understand weather patterns, climate risks, and environmental conditions.

Skyfora says its software-only solution allows telecom operators to generate additional value from existing infrastructure without requiring new hardware investments or added operational costs.
