San Francisco‑based startup Newo.ai has raised 25 million dollars in Series A funding to further develop its voice AI platform for small businesses and mid‑sized companies. The round was led by Veeam founder Ratmir Timashev. With this investment, Newo.ai has now raised $32 million altogether.

Small businesses, like Dental clinics, restaurants or services for the home often don't get all inbound calls that come in (usually during peak hours to after they close). And industry data indicates that more than half of these calls go to voicemail, potentially costing the owner lost bookings and revenue.

Newo.ai provides AI receptionists who respond to phone calls, SMS, web chat and WhatsApp messages 24/7. Among other tasks these AI voice agents can book appointments, qualify leads, route calls and transfer customers to human staff upon request. It is powered by Google Vertex AI and ensures quick voice responses that are as close to natural conversation as possible thanks to Gemini 2.5 Flash.

More than 15,000 active AI agents are in use, the company says, and its revenue doubled toward the end of 2025. One client, Image Orthodontics, reportedly pocketed an additional $400,000 in a quarter by booking after-hours appointments. And a collaboration with IONOS means that millions of smaller businesses can now sign up for the platform.

Newo was created in 2023 by Luba Rein, David Yang, Alex Novitsky and Viacheslav Seledkin. Newo.ai is attempting to integrate voice technology into everyday business systems. The platform relies on “Zero‑Hallucination” architecture, a process in which multiple levels of AI check domain answers for accuracy. It also provides auto-failover systems to ensure services run seamlessly.

Newo.ai is working on the problem of reliability in live business environments where background noise, accents and unclear requests can confound voice systems. The platform integrates directly with a company’s phone number, booking tools and CRM systems. If it has to, it hands off the call to a human employee.

The company is partner‑led, meaning that telecom operators, hosting providers and agencies can offer the AI receptionist service in their own name. Newo has thrived on this white‑label approach to scale across industries.

The intention is to minimize lost opportunities for small businesses and better serve customers, CEO Luba Rein said. The new funding will serve to accelerate product growth, additional industry partnerships and further integration with Gemini technology. Newo.ai will be scaling the platform internationally and offering support for other languages.
