Epoint received permission from the National Bank of Georgia and has launched a card payment service in Georgia, expanding its fintech solutions in the region. The deal represents Epoint’s first foray into an overseas market and a significant one in its overall ambition to expand internationally, with Georgian business leaders increasingly present on the global stage.
The company’s expansion comes on the back of strong performance at home. Epoint processed 500 million AZN in total payments in Azerbaijan in 2025, and that speaks volumes of its status as one of the fintech leaders.
Epoint did not open in Georgia overnight — it has been preparing for the launch for roughly a year. The team focused on customizing its products for local needs, forging partnerships with banks and complying with all legal rules. And so with that stage set, Epoint is now open for business in Georgia.
The development means businesses operating in both Azerbaijan and Georgia can now take card payments – online or in-store - via one system. This greatly reduces the difficulty of cross-border payments for Epoint’s partners.
Epoint was also accepted to the 500 Global accelerator program, with a regional presence in Georgia. This helped the company forge strong local relationships in the fintech world.
The company also congratulated Hasan Hasanov — the new CEO of Epoint Georgia and success in running the development of the company’s business in the new market.
