Canadian rap star Drake recently pulled back the curtain on the less glamorous side of his high-stakes sports gambling. In an Instagram Story posted around June 19, he shared a screenshot from his Stake betting account, revealing that he had wagered approximately $125 million over the span of a month—and suffered losses totaling roughly $8.24 million. Reflecting on the figures, he wrote: “Gotta share the other side of gambling. Losses are fried right now."
Despite the heavy losses, Drake’s gambling streak hasn’t been entirely bleak. Earlier this year, he placed a $750,000 bet on Royal Challengers Bengaluru to win the IPL 2025 final, which paid off handsomely with a $1.312 million win.
Those familiar with Drake’s gambling habits may recall his ongoing references to the so-called “Drake Curse”—a lighthearted superstition suggesting teams or athletes he supports often fail under pressure. His Instagram commentary poked fun at the situation, quipping that “these guys max once a week” and noting he’s yet to hit a max bet win.
Undeterred by recent losses, the rapper hasn’t shaken his confidence in future bets. He hinted at an appetite for a comeback, expressing hope: “I hope I can post a big win for you all soon cause I am the only one who has never seen a max.”
