Deeplify, a German startup is claiming its €2 million pre-seed funding round to improve how industries ensure key assets and maintain them. The round was led by D11Z Ventures, with participation from Vanagon Ventures, EWOR and several angel investors.

The company will invest the funds to enhance its platform and enter sectors like energy, oil and gas, chemicals, and transport.

Deeplify, established in 2014 by Christoph Siemer, Jan Löwer and Felix Asanger, aims to solve a decades-old problem faced by many industrial workers. Inspection processes rely on spreadsheets, disparate PDFs, images and even handwritten notes.

That creates problems as industries become more complicated. The European chemical sector alone contains around 31,000 companies and much of this work with aging machinery. At the same time, they generate vast quantities of data from sensors, images and reports, which makes it more difficult to keep records accurate.

Deeplify has created a deep domain integrated platform that unifies all inspection steps into one seamless system. It’s a one-stop-shop for data collection, image analysis, defect detection, and reporting.

The company claims its system can be cut inspection times by up to 70% while decreasing reporting errors by a total of 66%. It also avoids buckshot repairs and lays out a clear digital footprint of each step.

The platform has been trialled with SKF and is currently used by inspection companies supporting global energy clients including Shell.

In this area deeplify competes with other companies. RESONIKS utilizes sound-based technologies to detect defects in metal, and TeraView offers advanced testing equipment for imaging materials.

As industries grapple with aging systems and fewer skilled workers, demand for simple, reliable inspection tools continues to increase.
