CMR Surgical showcases Versius surgical robotics at the 11th annual YOUNG IFSO conference in Montpellier. The congress was dedicated to bariatric and metabolic surgery, and attracted young researchers from all areas.
In a post on LinkedIn, the company said its team facilitated teaching sessions about robotic surgery and taught surgeons how to use the Versius platform. These were then succeeded by practical workshops, which gave participants the opportunity to test it themselves and get hands-on with new updates in Versius Plus.
The event, is the first of its kind and brought under the YOUNG IFSO and aims to provide platform for young surgeons through training and knowledge exchange. In participating, CMR Surgical demonstrated clear emphasis on education and early participation with next generation surgeons.
This may help to facilitate increased adoption of the Versius system, particularly within bariatric surgery where demand for minimally invasive surgery is increasing. Teaching younger surgeons early could ease familiarity with the technology and help ensure future use in hospitals and surgical centers.
CMR Surgical being at the specialist events of this nature will also aid it in consolidating its position in the competitive robotic surgery market, particularly where fast growing procedures such as bariatric and metabolic care are concerned.
