A new startup called Edra, launched by two ex-Palantir employees, just netted $30 million Series A funding. Sequoia led the round, which also included 8VC and A*, a venture firm that entrepreneur Kevin Hartz launched. The New York City-based company is developing software that enables businesses to automate day-to-day workflows using their own operational data.
Edra was founded by Eugen Alpeza and Yannis Karamanlakis, who originally met at university over a decade ago. Both later took jobs at Palantir, where they gained experience building large enterprise systems. Alpeza handled commercial accounts and worked on releasing Palantir’s AI platform, while Karamanlakis was the first Forward Deployed AI engineer at the company, working to put AI tools into actual production as opposed to just testing them in demos.
The startup is addressing a perennial problem in enterprise. Companies generate enormous amounts of data daily through emails, support tickets, logs and internal chat tools, yet most of this information remains unused. Edra claims its software uses this data to analyze automatically, transforms it into an organized knowledge base and maintains that without human interventions. This reflects a wider trend seen in how AI is transforming enterprise document workflows, where businesses are using automation tools to organize data and reduce manual work.
No more cumbersome file searches or knowledge hunting; the system will bring all the help within one click. The world knows how crucial time is, especially in IT service management and customer support, where access to precise information can make or break an organization. The transformation of past data into searchable knowledge means that companies are better able to field questions more quickly and automate the completion of routine tasks.
Edra claims several well-known brands are already using its product, including HubSpot, ASOS, Cushman & Wakefield and easyJet. The new funds will go toward building out its team and adding more features as it seeks to grow the enterprise software business.
