In a Series A funding round, Smart Robotics, which is focused on AI-based warehouse automation, has attracted €10 million. Rotterdamse Havendraken led the investment, with Innovation Industries and Dutch family office Ernij Next participating. Embark said it will use the funding to scale throughout Europe, enhance product quality and improve its AI platform.

Smart Robotics, launched in 2015, develops systems for management of picked goods or automating warehouse tasks like pick & place palletizing and depalletizing. Solutions from its are an all-in-one platform of robots, software and services. Its AI system allows robots to sort and deliver different types of products in variable working conditions, a logistical reality. That basically speeds up the warehouse with lesser errors.

Logistics automation is on the rise, especially as online shopping increases and supply chains are getting pushed to the limit. Manual work is still relied upon by many warehouses, since the tasks can differ so significantly. Simultaneously they'll be forced to invest in robotics as labour shortages coupled with the need for speedy deliveries, drive companies towards automation. With pick-and-place systems gaining prominence, they help in reducing manual operational effort for key processes.

According to Smart Robotics it has its own strength, in the form of AI software and years of real-world data. This helps to increment how its systems function as opposed to traditional automation, for the most part, fixed programming. This, according to the company, positions it for an advantage as the industry looks towards more intelligent and adaptive automation.

This fresh capital is targeted towards Smart Robotics expanding its European footprint and scaling stack in deployments. This also means that its planning to broaden the products it offers and refine its AI platform, allowing it to better cope with more intricate warehouse functions. They are aiming to automate hard work at high frequency and scale, for logistics companies.

Smart Robotics, European company that builds AI-driven solutions for warehouse automation It has systems which gives enterprises a way to cut backs on manual work, drive operational efficiency and manage logistics operations at scale.
