Apple is unveiling Apple Creator Studio, a new subscription that includes many of its popular creative apps in one bundle. The move targets video editors, musicians, designers, students and anyone else who makes stuff on a Mac, iPad or iPhone.
The subscription features many popular apps like Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro, Motion, Compressor and MainStage. It also introduces a range of smart features and premium content in Keynote, Pages, Numbers and later Freeform. The aim is to provide creators with powerful tools in one place while making the experience simple and private, Apple says.
Final Cut Pro delivers faster, more powerful editing and can version documents across Mac and iPad. They can search on spoken words within video clips, use objects or actions in scenes to find other similar scenes and even match video cuts to music beats. New on iPad, a feature can help you create fast video edits by automatically choosing your best moments.
Logic Pro is getting some new music creation tools. These include features that aid in the identification of chords from recordings and create synth parts to hasten song building. The app also includes additional sound packs and tools for recording vocals and mixing tracks.
For the first time, Pixelmator Pro is now on iPad. It has touch controls and Apple Pencil support too, so you can edit photos and design on-the-go. Users can sketch back and forth between iPad and Mac, with the same tools and files, over Wi-Fi.
Apple Creator Studio also enhances productivity applications. Subscribers also have access to premium templates, photos and new features that help you craft presentations faster, documents more easily and spreadsheets more accurately. And then there’s other programs that can convert text to slides, or clean up the layout automatically.
Apple Creator Studio will launch on the App Store beginning January 28. It is available for $12.99 a month or $129 a year, with a one-month free trial. Teachers and students receive a discounted rate for subscribing. Users who are so inclined can still purchase a few of the Mac apps as one-time buys.
