Amazon Shows Off New Fire TV Look and Faster Features
— The update offers a cleaner interface, faster performance for streaming sticks and smart TVs.
Fire TV News: Amazon’s Fire TV Interface Redesign Just Announced at CES 2026! The update offers a cleaner interface, faster performance for streaming sticks and smart TVs.
The new design refresh adopts rounded edges for apps, movies and show icons: There is more white space in between items, new font styles and softer color tones. Amazon also said the system was faster, with some workloads running 30% faster.
The main layout remains familiar. Tabs for Home, Movies, TV Shows and Sports remain at the top. Other than that, there’s some welcomed customization at play: Users can pin up to 20 streaming apps (from just six) under recommended content.
Amazon also upgraded remote features. Games, Art & Photos and Ambient mode are quickly accessible from a Menu button press. Now a shortcut menu for system settings and feeds from your Ring cameras comes up when you press and hold the Home button.
The new voice assistant, Alexa+, from Amazon is integrated in the interface. It comes in handy for watchlist updates, content recommendations and smart home commands.
The Fire TV mobile app now allows users to browse, manage watchlists and launch shows from their phones — much like Roku and Google TV apps.
The new Fire TV UI will come to Fire TV Stick 4K Plus, 4K Max (2nd Gen), and Omni Mini-LED TVs in February. The update is coming to even more devices and regions later this spring, including TVs from Hisense, TCL and Panasonic.
