Today, we have Andrew Shepard, Product Manager and one of the founders of Roulette77, as our guest. We will discuss how the idea for the project was born, how it became a global platform for roulette enthusiasts worldwide, and what the platform has in store for the future.
Yes, I vividly remember—it was late 2017. We came up with a bold experiment: to create a website with a simple online roulette game and simultaneously launch localized versions of the site for nearly every country in the world to increase reach. At that time, several affiliate teams were already testing such a multi-targeting approach, and their results looked promising. So, we moved from idea to action. The project officially launched in early 2018, and it quickly became clear that the main challenge was not technology but management. We had to maintain hundreds of domains, content, and languages without burning through the entire budget. Thus, the biggest challenge at the start was effectively managing this digital mosaic of websites; today, the main challenge is providing users with an experience that is noticeably better than that of any competitor.
For us, roulette is not just a form of entertainment but an opportunity to promote mindful and fair gaming. When we talk about "responsible gaming culture," we primarily mean informing players about all the risks associated with gambling. We strive to explain to players how roulette works on a mathematical level, how to choose bets, and how to recognize risks. We don’t promise wins; on the contrary, we caution against losses, especially in the long run. That’s the nature of roulette, and neither we nor our users can change it. However, they can use tools to understand their odds.
Another point we emphasize in the context of responsible gaming culture is choosing trustworthy casinos. All the sites we recommend must have licenses, fair Random Number Generators, and self-control tools, from deposit limits to session timers and participation in self-exclusion programs, if available in a given country. We are convinced that if someone decides to gamble, they should do so on their own terms and in complete safety.
Our game started as an experiment aimed at creating an online roulette that works instantly, without registration or unnecessary options, while remaining visually appealing and fair. We launched our first version in 2018.
What makes our simulator unique? First, it offers completely free access without restrictions. It’s not just a game but a tool for practice. You can play as much as you want and study the game’s mechanics without risk. Second, it works on all devices, including desktops and mobile browsers. We made every effort to adapt the interface to be convenient and fast. In our latest update in 2025, we also added a competitive element to the game—a tournament with monthly and annual rankings updated in real time. Judging by the number of tournament participants, the idea has fully paid off.
The idea came about quite naturally. After publishing our guides on odds and payouts in roulette, we frequently received questions from players like, “How much will I win if I bet like this?” We realized there was a need for a simple, interactive tool to visualize this. So, we first created the probability calculator and then the payout calculator. The probability calculator clearly shows the odds for each bet, from straight-ups to complex combinations. Players simply place chips on the virtual table, click “Calculate,” and instantly get the probability calculation. The payout calculator, in turn, shows how much you would actually win if the ball lands on the chosen number. This is especially useful for composite bets, where it’s hard to estimate potential returns manually. The system instantly displays the potential payout for all the cells bet on. Essentially, our calculators allow players to safely test any hypotheses before moving to real bets.
As I mentioned earlier, scalability was built into the project’s foundation back in 2017. To achieve this, we developed an architecture that allows us to quickly deploy sites for different regions and languages. We had to automate some processes to avoid drowning in operational tasks. As for content, we don’t just translate texts; we adapt them to the cultural and gaming specifics of each country. For example, in Australia, we focus on casinos with fast payouts and support for popular payment systems like Neteller or Skrill, as Australian players value convenience and transaction speed. We also consider that low-wager bonuses are popular in Australia, so we recommend casinos with such offers. In other words, our goal is to provide each region with an experience that is as relevant as possible.
Yes, we have real experts in our team on both sides of the gaming table. Two of our specialists not only play in casinos themselves but also have experience working in the casino industry. This gives them a unique understanding of the processes: they know how everything works from the inside and can evaluate sites from both a player’s and an operator’s perspective. They are responsible for our objective casino reviews, checking everything from payout speeds to the quality of customer support.
As for strategies, I often participate in this myself. We developed a special mathematical model that simulates over 1,000 spins to test strategies. After each test, we analyze the results, create charts, and evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of the approach. Next, we publish a detailed review in our separate section. This helps us provide players with verified recommendations rather than just saying, “Try this,” and it shows how and why a strategy works or doesn’t.
It might sound cliché, but it’s guaranteed to work. Roulette is about enjoyment and excitement, not the illusion of quick riches. Play mindfully, and every session will bring joy, regardless of the outcome. Start by understanding the game and its rules, get familiar with the odds, try different bets and game models in demo mode. Set a budget and never exceed it.
