PraxisPro Lands $6M Seed to Train Medical Sales Squads
— The platform leverages language models trained on medical data to assist sales teams in understanding how to speak with healthcare providers.
PraxisPro, a startup that aims to improve sales training in the medical industry, has announced it raised $6 million in seed funding led by AlleyCorp. The round was led by Flybridge, South Loop Ventures and Zeal Capital Partners.
The company was started by Cam Badger, who began his career in pharmaceutical sales. He later tried his hand at training and at a medical startup, where he witnessed up close how weak coaching and poor training were damaging sales teams. Badger founded PraxisPro with Dr. Benny Alouf and Bhrugu Giri to rethink how sales reps in healthcare are trained.
PraxisPro was founded in 2023 and debuted its first product. The platform is designed for life sciences companies, including pharma and medical device companies. It can run on its own or integrate with other business software.
The platform leverages language models trained on medical data to assist sales teams in understanding how to speak with healthcare providers. It also offers a virtual practice tool that enables reps to rehearse their sales conversations prior to engaging with doctors.
Badger said the need for clear communication is as important now as it has ever been. PraxisPro enables reps to remain within legal limits and discover how best they can communicate about patient needs in an effective and understandable way.
During a transaction, sales representatives typically have many conversations with the same doctor. They can practice these conversations in PraxisPro, such as explaining how to deal with difficult questions or pushback. Badger added that this targeted training helps differentiate the platform from other sales role-playing tool.
They plan to use the new financing to build out and improve the product. Badger said the idea came from his own early struggles in sales, when better support could have made a big difference. Now he hopes the platform will help sales teams do a better job and ensure important treatments for patients get to market more quickly.
